Hope Mills police were searching early Saturday for a 16-year-old boy who is believed to be cognitively impaired. 

<b>HOPE MILLS, N.C.</b> — Hope Mills police were searching early Saturday for a 16-year-old boy who is believed to be cognitively impaired. 

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for Elamar Davis at about 4:15 a.m. after he went missing from a home in the 6300 block of Streeter Drive. 

Davis is black, stands about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 125 pounds. He has short brown hair and brown eyes. 

When he went missing, Davis was wearing a pink shirt, blue jeans and black and red Nike shoes, police said. It wasn't clear where he may be headed. 

Anyone with information about Davis' whereabouts should call the Hope Mills Police Department at 910-425-4103.
