Silver Alert issued for Hope Mills teen

Hope Mills police were searching early Saturday for a 16-year-old boy who is believed to be cognitively impaired.

HOPE MILLS, N.C. — Hope Mills police were searching early Saturday for a 16-year-old boy who is believed to be cognitively impaired. 

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for Elamar Davis at about 4:15 a.m. after he went missing from a home in the 6300 block of Streeter Drive. 

Davis is black, stands about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 125 pounds. He has short brown hair and brown eyes. 

When he went missing, Davis was wearing a pink shirt, blue jeans and black and red Nike shoes, police said. It wasn't clear where he may be headed.
