Silver Alert issued for 18-year-old Raleigh man

Raleigh police were searching Saturday morning for a missing 18-year-old man who is believed to be suffering from a cognitive impairment.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police were searching Saturday morning for a missing 18-year-old man who is believed to be suffering from a cognitive impairment.

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for Tavalas Deree Dawson at 9 a.m. after he went missing from the 1400 block of South Wilmington Street. 

Dawson is 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds. He has short black hair and brown eyes, authorities said. 

It wasn't clear where Dawson may be headed. 

Anyone with information on Dawson's whereabouts should call the Raleigh Police Department at 919-710-4108.
