Silver Alert canceled for Raleigh woman, 23

Silver Alert

— The N.C. Center for Missing Persons canceled a Silver Alert Wednesday after they found Alison Margaret Woodward, 23.

She was believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

Authorities did not release any information about how she was found or her condition.

    john, the silver alert is for adults that have impaired decision making and are a danger to be gone with supervision. alot of these younger people live in group homes, could be schizophrenia, bipolar, personality disorder, etc. there are alot of medical problems that can make any adult young to old be unsafe to be alone. silver alerts are not issued for persons that are able to make that decision. that is a missing persons report.

    I am beginning to think that the "silver alert" is being abused, exactly what qualifies a person? Is being on anti-depressiants good enough, if so half of the people I know could have a silver alert issued on them...

    Adults go missing...by choice most of the time.

    I wonder why we received an emergency phone call after the alert had been canceled? Also the search helicopter was still flying around just 15 minutes ago.
