Silver Alert canceled for Raleigh man
The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons canceled a Silver Alert on Saturday for a missing Raleigh man.
Posted — UpdatedThe alert was issued for Walter David Stallings, 50, Thursday evening. Authorities believed he was suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.
They canceled the alert, but did not provide details on whether Stalling was found alive.
Developed in 2007, the Silver Alert is a system to quickly notify the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.
It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
