The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons has canceled a Silver Alert for Wade E. Jessup, 65, of Greensboro.

<b>GREENSBORO, N.C.</b> — The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons has canceled a Silver Alert for Wade E. Jessup, 65, of Greensboro.

He was reported missing early Friday. Authorities did not release any details about how he was found.<br />

Jessup is believed to suffer from some cognitive impairment.

Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system to quickly notify the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.<br />

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.

Silver Alert canceled for Greensboro man

According to the school, administrators received a report of a person with a firearm on the football field. The tip was just a report, and it remains unclear if a gun was on campus, according to the school.
