FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Someone fired a gun through the window of a patient treatment room at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center early Saturday morning, but no one was injured.

Police were called to the hospital, at 1638 Owen Drive, just after 2 a.m. on a report that someone was firing shots at the building. In a fourth-floor room occupied by a mother and child, they found evidence that a single round made it into the building.

Police said there was no reason to believe the hospital or those inside were in further danger, but they asked for help from the public in tracking down the shooter. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 910-433-1856.
