Sex offender charged with prostituting Cary teen

Cary police arrested an Arkansas man serving probation for sex charges amidst fresh accusations that he prostituted a 16-year-old girl.

CARY, N.C. — Cary police arrested an Arkansas man serving probation for sex charges amidst fresh accusations that he prostituted a 16-year-old girl.

Arrest warrants state that on Friday, Carl Lynn Williams, 23, of Harrison, Ark., forced the girl to do sexual acts to another person in exchange for money.

Williams was charged with sexual servitude of a child victim and placed in the Wake County jail under a $400,000 secured bond.

Arkansas authorities are seeking to extradite him to Boone County, where he is wanted on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender.

Williams was sentenced 72 months' probation in 2010 after being convicted in an incident involving a 14-year-old in Boone County, Ark., in 2008, according to the North Carolina Sex Offenders Registry. Eight days after his conviction in Arkansas, he registered with the Sex Offenders Registry in North Carolina.

He also has two larceny convictions in Wake County dating from 2005, according to state Department of Correction records.
