Semi, Train Collision Closes Cary Road

The cab of the semi was turned sideways by the 1 p.m. collision at a crossing on Northeast Maynard Road, but no injuries were reported.

The truck driver said he stopped on the tracks because of traffic, and the cross-arms came down on the rig and trapped him.

Maynard Road was closed between East Chatham Street and Chapel Hill Road in Cary part of the afternoon while crews worked to clean up diesel fuel that spilled in the wreck.
