Selma, N.C. — A police K-9 reported missing last weekend has been found, Selma police said Thursday.
Police said they believe Jin escaped from her pen at her handler's home in Pine Level late Saturday.
Pine Level resident Ben Moye, who had been searching for Jin for several days, reported seeing the black-and-tan German shepherd in a wooded area, and an officer went to the area and found the dog, Police Chief Charles Bowen said.
Jin has a slight limp but didn't show any major health problems, Bowen said. A veterinarian who looked at the dog Thursday said it probably had been hit by a car, but it's leg wasn't broken.
