TARBORO, N.C. — Authorities charged a second teen in the shooting death of an Edgecombe County store clerk last week.

Arrington Everette is charged with murder in the Nov. 15 slaying of Ahmad Mahmoed Nimer, 61, in the Wings n' Things convenience store on N.C. Highway 33.

Nimer was coming from a back room of the store when he caught several people trying to steal from the store's register, authorities said. Investigators said they believe Nimer pulled his gun to try to stop the robbery and was shot. He was able to chase the teens out the front door before he collapsed, they said.

Paramedics took Nimer to Heritage Hospital, where he died.

William Allen, 18, of Tarboro, was also charged murder in Nimer's death and was being held without bond in the Edgecombe County Jail.

Two other teens have been charged with possession of a stolen firearm and breaking and entering.
