Second suspect arrested in Durham house party shooting
Durham police arrested a second suspect Friday in connection with a September shooting at a house party that injured injured eight people.

Witnesses told police that a vehicle stopped and then its occupants opened fired in front a house in the 1100 block of Delano Street around 4 a.m. Sept. 5. Seven men and one woman were injured, two of them seriously.
Marcus Dorty, 30, was charged Friday with seven counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and one count of shooting into an occupied dwelling. He was placed in the Durham County jail under a $4 million bond.
Police also filed an additional five counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury against Marquette Travon Williams, 23, who was arrested Wednesday on three counts of that same charge, along with discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling. His bond was raised to $4.6 million.
Williams also faces charges of attempted murder and armed robbery from another county.
Dorty, whose criminal record dates to 1996, has spent more than eight years out of the past 12 in prison, according to state Department of Correction records.
He has convictions for armed robbery, larceny and two counts each of common-law robbery, assault and carrying a concealed weapon.
