— Fire tore through a house at 4037 Patriot Ridge Court in Raleigh early Monday, the second fire at the house in the past 48 hours. Both fires appear to be suspicious.

Police said they responded to the same home a few weeks ago and made a drug bust.

The first fire happened just before 10 p.m. Saturday and was extinguished in about five minutes. No injuries were reported.

Monday's fire started some time before 1:45 a.m. A neighbor saw smoke and called 911. Huge flames were shooting through the roof by the time fire officials arrived.

"Obviously, we want to know how it started and our investigators have a checklist," said Rob Johnson, division chief with the Raleigh Fire Department.

Multiple neighbors, who declined to give their names, said they were too scared to talk openly about the situation due to problems at the home, including the recent drug bust.

Since my "neighbor", 5 houses down from me, is running a crack/whore house, I can only wish this was that house. Being that I have had the drug cops inside my home, "Rocky Mt. PD", while I pointed out every single car going to the drug house, you might think this was taken care of. Here I am almost 6 years later and not one thing has been done to stop this activity. In my case, it's the Rocky Mount Police Department's drug investigation team...the rest of the RMPD...who has yet to even send 1 cop to the drug/whore house.

Maybe the neighbors of this house simply got tired of waiting for the "law" to get off their....well....you know.

-spirit- It was a weed bust, 215 pounds to be exact. The fellas name was vasquez.

spirit since the property tax records indicate that the owner, Mr. Rodolfo Martinez-Garcia has the same mailing address as the address of the property where the fire occurred on patriots ridge circle, i would surmise the house was occupied by the owner.

If the drug bust involved meth production, the house could be determined to be a total loss since because of the residue of that production would sicken anyone to the extent that it would be unlivable. The question concerning the drug bust that I would ask is: "were the perpetrators renters or the owners".

When the neighbors fear retribution from being interviewed, you know something is very wrong there.

The house had been vacant due to drug bust. I am guessing the owner has left the bank holding the mortgage. http://services.wakegov.com/realestate/Account.asp?id=0346667&stype=addr&stnum=4037&stname=Patriot+Ridge&locidList=&spg=1&cd=01&loc=4037++PATRIOT+RIDGE+CT&des=LO119+JOHN%27S+POINTE+PH2+BM2006%2D01331&pin=1731495076&page=1

the owner is probably trying to cash in on an insurance policy so they can pay their legal costs.

It seems like it is almost a losing battle to get rid of people like this in your neighborhood. Pretty sad when neighbors are scared to say anything when it is really their "neighborhood"!!

  • saturn5 Nov 11, 2013

I wonder if it's someone trying to destroy evidence, or someone else trying to take care of a drug house? What a shame. It's a real pretty neighborhood.

How horrible it must be for their poor neighbors. Hopefully these people will get evicted/foreclosed on/arrested so that their neighbors can live in peace.
