Second Brother Arrested in Goldsboro Slaying

Brothers Everette and Deon McLean were arrested and charged with an open count of murder in the slaying of Antron Hines.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A second arrest was made in the shooting death of Antron Hines.
The shooting occurred on June 5, 2007 in the 800 block of Olivia Lane. Everette McLean was arrested early Wednesday, and Deon Jerrill McLean was later located in Guilford County and arrested, police said. Both were charged with an open count of murder.

Officers found Antron Demon Hines, 22, of 3243 Chandler St. in Fayetteville, lying in the yard between 803 and 805 Olivia Lane at about 7 p.m., police said.

Hines was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from gunshot wounds, police said.

Warrants were issued charging Deon Jerrill McLean, 22, of 315 E. Walnut St. in Goldsboro, and Everette McLean, 26, of 1300 E. Elm St. in Goldsboro, with murder.

Deon McLean was left in the custody of the Wayne County Jail awaiting his first appearance in court.
