School bus involved in Raleigh wreck
Twenty middle and high schoolers were on board, but none were injured in the wreck at New Bern Avenue and Freedom Drive, school officials said.
Posted — UpdatedTwenty students from Enloe High School and Ligon Middle School were on board at the time, but none were injured, said Bill Poston, a spokesman for the Wake County Public School System. The bus driver was also OK.
The bus driver was pulling away from River Oaks Middle School after picking up a few students, Poston said. As the bus pulled onto Freedom Drive, a vehicle struck its front end.
Officials did not know if the driver of the second vehicle had been injured.
Poston said he thought the second vehicle was a wrecker.
