<b>ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C.</b> — The State Bureau of Investigation is investigating misappropriation of city funds for the Roanoke Rapids Christmas parade.

Laura Connell was the parade's committee chair, but resigned last week.

Roanoke Rapids police said the town gave $5,000 to the event.

At this time, authorities are not releasing details about the funds called into question.
