An officer-involved shooting in Duplin County is under investigation by the SBI.

WALLACE, N.C. — An officer-involved shooting in Duplin County is under investigation by the SBI.

Wallace police said the shooting took place on Friday around 11 p.m. in a parking lot on N. Northwood Street in Wallace.

There was no info released on the condition of the officer or what led to the shooting.

Wallace Chief of Police James Crayton asked the SBI to conduct the investigation, which is standard for officer-involved shootings.

"We ask for your thoughts and prayers for everyone involved during this difficult time," a post on the Wallace police Facebook page read.
