SANFORD, N.C. — A First Citizens Bank in Sanford was closed Wednesday after a dye pack exploded.
It happened before the bank, at 2108 S Horner Blvd., opened to the public.
The employee, who mishandled the pack, suffered minor injuries.
Dye packs, often slipped inside money bags during bank robberies, permanently stain money so everyone is alerted that the cash is stolen.
