KENLY, N.C. — A Kenly woman said thieves ripped off the front of her house while stealing a safe Friday night.

Tammy Aamon, with the Johnston County Sheriff's Office, said that someone broke into a house at 971 Bagley Road around 11 p.m. and stole a gun safe. No one was home at the time.

Homeowner Vicky Johnson said that the safe was taken from the back of her house and drug through the house, knocking out the front.

Aamon said Saturday that the investigation was ongoing.
