A 32-year-old man who walked away from a Rocky Mount group home Wednesday night was found dead in a swamp Thursday, police said. 

<b>ROCKY MOUNT, N.C.</b> — A 32-year-old man who walked away from a Rocky Mount group home Wednesday night was found dead in a swamp Thursday, police said. 

A Silver Alert was issued Thursday for Benjamin Simmons Courtney, who was staying at the home on Lancaster Street. He was last seen around 6 p.m. Wednesday walking into a wooded area in the 1200 block of Delphia Drive.

His body was found in a swamp Thursday afternoon. Police did not provide an exact location.

The cause of death is under investigation.
