ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A registered sex offender racked up nine charges after police say he ran a stop sign in Rocky Mount.

Authorities said Johnathan Raymond Knight, 29, was driving erratically before leading police on a chase that ended at his house at 111 Wilkinson St. on Feb. 3.

Upon further investigation, police said Knight was driving on a revoked license, had violated sex offender restrictions by living within 1,000 feet of a school and had a firearm in his car despite being a convicted felon.

He was also charged with reckless driving, resisting a public officer, fictitious registration and two counts of failure to stop for a stop sign.

Knight posted bond and was released.
