ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A Rocky Mount man was arrested Sunday on accusations that he hit a disabled man on the head with a pot, police said Tuesday.

The suspect, Randy Andrew Foster, 44, faces one count each of robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault on a handicapped person. He was in the Edgecombe County jail under a $25,000 bond Wednesday.

Investigators say Foster was an acquaintance of the victim but did not specify how they knew each other or what might have prompted the alleged assault.

The victim was treated at Nash General Hospital and released, authorities said.
