Rocky Mount man accused of shooting brother's leg

Rocky Mount, N.C. — Rocky Mount police arrested Richard Antonio Carpenter, 26, after he allegedly shot his brother, James Benjamin Carpenter, 24, after an argument Friday morning.
The shooting happened around 4 a.m. in the 200 block of Park Avenue, police said.
James Carpenter was taken to Nash General Hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Richard Carpenter was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
