Robbery victim shot, another carjacked in Fayetteville

Posted January 22, 2014

— One person was shot and another carjacked after a mini-crime spree Wednesday afternoon.

A man approached a customer at the Carolina Clean Car Wash, 1933 Pamalee Dr., at about 6 p.m. armed with a handgun and demanded his personal property. The victim was shot in the arm during a struggle with the suspect, police said. The victim was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and was listed in stable condition.

After the shooting, the suspect approached a second person who was sitting in a vehicle at Pamalee Plaza, located near the car wash. The suspect ordered the driver out of the vehicle at gunpoint. The driver then fled to a nearby business.

The second victim’s vehicle was recovered but the suspect fled the area before police arrived.

Anyone with information about the robbery, carjacking or the identity of the suspect is asked to call Fayetteville police at 910-433-1856 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477.
