Roanoke Rapids police investigating shooting, fatal crash
One person was killed and another was injured in a car crash near a shopping center in Roanoke Rapids on Saturday evening, just minutes after a different person was injured in a shooting, according to police.

The crash and shooting happened just after 5 p.m. at Forest Hills Shopping Center off 10th Street. Police say four vehicles were involved in the crash.
The person who was shot and the person injured in the crash were taken to a local hospital. Their names were not released. Police also did not release the name of the person who died in the crash.
It's unclear how the shooting and crash were connected. No other information was released.
