DURHAM, N.C. — Escalating construction costs have put some downtown Durham projects on hold.

During a work session on Thursday, City Council members voted to postpone renovations on the Durham Armory, which temporarily closed this summer.

The renovations were to be paid for by bonds, but original costs projections are now over budget.

City Manager Patrick Baker said other projects might also be affected.
