Rifle stolen from Cumberland patrol car

Cumberland County authorities said Monday they are searching for two men who broke into a Sheriff's Office patrol car and stole a semi-automatic rifle.

HOPE MILLS, N.C. — Cumberland County authorities said Monday they are searching for two men who broke into a Sheriff’s Office patrol car and stole a semi-automatic rifle.

The patrol car was parked on the 8000 block of Kalmia Lane south of Hope Mills early Friday when the men smashed its windows and grabbed the Smith & Wesson MP15X rifle, an Eotech 2.0 sight and Streamlight GLR1 light, authorities said.

Authorities have only vague descriptions of the two thieves.
