Reward offered in Durham store robberies

Durham police are offering a reward for information leading to arrests in two armed robberies of businesses this week.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are offering a reward for information leading to arrests in two armed robberies of businesses this week.

The first robbery was reported at 9:32 p.m. on Monday at New Way Food Mart, 1907 Cheek Road. The second one happened at 11:47 p.m. Wednesday at Durham Mini Mart, 1933 Holloway St.

In both cases, there were two robbers, armed with guns, wearing dark clothing and masks, who left walking toward the 600 block of Hardee Street.

Police aren't sure if the robberies are connected.

Anyone with information about either is asked to call the Durham Police Department at 919-560-4281, extension 29122, or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.
