Reward offered as investigators continue to probe Smithfield restaurant fire

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest as authorities continue to investigate a fire at a restaurant in Smithfield.

SMITHFIELD, N.C. — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest as authorities continue to investigate a fire at a restaurant in Smithfield.

According to investigators, two men set fire to the R City Bar and Grill, at 388-A Venture Drive, on Oct. 28.

Authorities say the two men were seen on surveillance video pouring a liquid substance inside the restaurant prior to the fire.

A man and woman were also seen inside the business prior to the fire.

The incident is being investigated by the ATF, Smithfield Police Department and Johnston County Sheriff's Office.
