RDU announces new restaurants for Terminal 2

The Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority announced the opening of four restaurants Thursday. The restaurants will include two that will open this fall and three that will open in the fall of 2017, including one replacing a temporary stand from this fall.

MORRISVILLE, N.C. — The Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority announced the opening of four restaurants Thursday. The restaurants will include two that will open this fall and three that will open in the fall of 2017, including one replacing a temporary stand from this fall.

Short-term locations include:

Starbucks, which will be the airport’s fifth location, at Gate D-14

Tap Room, featuring a full bar and pub fare, at Gate D-15

Long-term restaurants include:

Dale Jr.’s Whisky River, a full-service restaurant featuring a stage for live music, at Gate D-14
Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen at Gate D-15

Starbucks, which will replace the temporary unit, at Gate D-14

“We want to offer more of what our customers want, quality concepts and brands that they trust,” Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Landguth said in a statement. “The addition of these restaurants will enable us to provide the world-class level of service our customers deserve.”

The short-term units will provide passengers using the south end of the concourse with convenient food options until the long-term units open, officials said. Work on the short-term restaurants will begin immediately, officials said.
