Raleigh woman accused of stealing nearly $60K from job

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh woman has been arrested on accusations that she stole nearly $60,000 from her employer.

Sonya Jenkins Franks, 41, of 4217 Beacon Crest Way, was charged Sunday with one count each of forgery and embezzlement.

According to an arrest warrant, Franks stole the money last year, over a seven-month period, from Family Legacy Mental Health Services in Raleigh.

She was jailed under a $15,000 bond and is expected to make her first court appearance Tuesday.
