Raleigh police seek to ID woman in hotel robbery

Posted April 29, 2011

— Raleigh police asked for the public's help Thursday to identify a woman who robbed the Red Roof Inn on April 10.

The woman entered the lobby of the hotel at 1813 S. Saunders St. around 10 a.m., police said. She gave the clerk a note demanding money and, once she had cash, fled on foot.

She is described as black, in her 20s or 30s, with a light complexion. She is 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds. She was wearing large sunglasses and a black jacket with a white, horizontal stripe on the front and carrying a tan and white purse.

Anyone who believes they recognize the woman is asked to call Raleigh Crime Stoppers at 919-834-4357. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for anonymous tips that help solve cases.

Why did it take 9 days for RPD to get that information out to the public? You would think that they would want it out there alot faster than that. And why such a bad picture.....just having a camera doesn't mean you are going to catch this person......wake up people and get better surveilance equipment.

You would think that someone would invent high quality video cameras for businesses. I couldn't sit on a jury and convict someone based on any of the pictures I've seen on store cameras.

Yeah from the picture it could be a guy dressed like a girl.

    Wish the pictures were clearer.
