Raleigh, N.C. — The body of a 71-year-old Raleigh man missing since Sunday was found Thursday near Wake Forest.
Elliot Bernard Haas was last seen in the area of Wakefield Pines Drive. He told neighbors he was walking about 2½ miles to Crossroads Nissan, off Capital Boulevard and South Main Street in Wake Forest, to pick up his car, which he had dropped off for service.
He was found dead shortly before 11 a.m. in a wooded area near the car dealership.
Investigators said there was no indication of foul play in his death. They said it's unclear if he became disoriented, experienced a medical problem or succumbed to the heat.
