Raleigh police were investigating after a person arrived at Wake Med Thursday after being shot.

Raleigh police were investigating after a person arrived at Wake Med Thursday after being shot.

Officials said the shooting happened along Quarry Street near East Lenoir Street, which is close to the downtown area. Raleigh Police confirmed an adult was admitted to Wake Med Thursday after coming in around 3:45 p.m.

Officials told WRAL a 52-year-old black man was shot and was suffering non-life threatening injuries. He was transferred via ambulance to the the hospital. A source told WRAL's Mark Boyle the victim and suspect are familiar with each other.

Boyle also reports that through a crime-mapping website, calls have increased for service from police over the past month. That includes weapons, assault calls and vehicle break-ins.

Police were still investigating.
