— Crews briefly evacuated a neighborhood off of Trawick Road in Raleigh on Thursday night after reports of a strong smell of gas.

The gas company and the fire department could not find a leak and said there was no public safety issue.

A fire truck remained on the scene for several hours as a precaution.
