RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh man faces a felony hit-and-run charge in connection with a crash last month in which a woman was injured.

Rodney Lamont Gilchrist, 42, of 121 S. Tarboro Road, was arrested Tuesday and jailed under a $10,000 bond.

According to a Dec. 13 arrest warrant, Gilchrist was involved in a wreck on New Bern Avenue near Corporation Parkway that seriously injured Paula Ann Hedgepeth, of Raleigh.

"The defendant knew and reasonably should have known that the vehicle which the defendant was operating was involved in the crash and that the crash had resulted in serious injury," the warrant states.
