Raleigh man dies after being hit by motorcycle Monday

A Raleigh man who was hit by a motorcycle Monday night as he tried to cross Fayetteville Road in Garner has died, police said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh man who was hit by a motorcycle Monday night as he tried to cross Fayetteville Road in Garner has died, police said.

Police say Brian Wray Ferrell, 36, was crossing the road around 7 p.m. when he was hit near the intersection of Fayetteville Road and Mechanical Boulevard.

The motorcycle driver, Charles Eugene Teal, saw Ferrell but did not have time to stop, police said. He was thrown from his bike in the crash but not seriously injured.

Teal was transported to Wake Med, where he was treated and released.

Police do not expect to charge Teal with a crime.
