Raleigh man charged with soliciting, indecent liberties with a child

Raleigh police arrested a 47-year-old man Wednesday and charged him with soliciting a child by computer and indecent liberties with a child, both of which are felonies.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police arrested a 47-year-old man Wednesday and charged him with soliciting a child by computer and indecent liberties with a child, both of which are felonies.

Richard Michael Wiley, of 3201 Byers Drive, is accused of using a computer to try to meet and have sex with a child younger than 16 years old, according to the arrest warrant.

Wiley "did commit and attempt to commit a lewd and lascivious act upon the body of (a minor)" from May 11 to Nov. 23, according to the arrest warrant.

His bond was set at $200,000, and he was scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning. No other information was released.
