Raleigh man charged with raping 11-year-old

Posted October 29, 2009

— A 19-year-old Raleigh man was charged Thursday with raping an 11-year-old child, according to an arrest warrant.

The warrant says that Dustin Nolen McLaurin, of 3931 Chandler Ridge Circle, had vaginal intercourse with the child on Sept. 16.

McLaurin was being held in the Wake County Jail Friday under a $300,000 secured bond. If released on bond, McLaurin wouldn't be allowed to contact the victim and could not be around any children without direct supervision of a parent or law enforcement.

His first court date was set for Friday.

A guy_ sorry for what you had to deal with I too was accussed of a crime assault against a female officer while in the military and was aquitted of all charges. They say you are innocent until proven guilty but we all know that once someone levels an accusation against you YOU ARE GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCCENT. And even sometimes after that they still say you're guilty you just got away with it.

A Guy: Are you serious? He had VAGINAL intercourse and he is 19 years old. That little girl is in what ... 5th or 6th grade?? I don't care how many freakin ways you look at that, it's WRONG.

Guilty Guilty Guilty ... I hope they hook that boy up in jail in all the wrong ways.

alx - "Perhaps he will enjoy the welcome party he will get at central prison."

We could only hope, but more often, those with similar crimes bond together and protect one another in prison.

It's often not the way "we" think it is at all.

    God bless.

    A Guy -

Sorry for what you went through but in cases like this, you're the exception, not the rule, because I've worked with police on things like this. Before they even take it to the grand jury, they're sure to have a file a foot thick with evidence.

In this case, they did say "vaginal intercourse". That means there's vaginal evidence - and on an 11-year old, that ain't right no matter how it happened.

To point to this guy, they probably also have semen evidence as well as being ID'd.

They wouldn't take it to the grand jury with any less.

    God bless.

Now this is something I personally am getting tired of hearing and reading in the news. This young man deserves to have 60 years in prison. He will be a senior citizen when you he is let out of prison - 77. An old man! Sad but true. Are the parents teaching there sons anything at all today? I wonder. How did this young lady find herself alone with this man? Is he a friend of the family, or what? Nevertheless, in time I hope she will be OK with counseling to help her get through this.

WOW... This guy has been convicted and sentenced by everyone here and he has not yet been to court. An arrest doesn't equal to conviction. I have walked the path he is about to take and it's not gonna be pretty. I was wrongly/falsely accused/charged for first degree rape. Your right the justice system here sucks. The DA was only interested in a conviction not the truth and when the truth came out I was so innocent to the point where I should have never even been questioned but instead I stayed in the county jail for 5 months. I was told that I could sue the people that wrongly accused me in civil court. The DA quit and went into private practice and apologized to me several times. So you never know the underlying circumstance from what you read from WRAL. So please do be so quick to form a lynch mob until all details are clear.

Anyone who abuses a child in this way should be sterilized in some fashion so that they will never be able to reproduce and further contaminate the gene pool.

From the story: "McLaurin wouldn't be allowed to contact the victim and could not be around any children without direct supervision of a parent ..."

Given the proven judgment of some (so many!) parents where their children and significant others are concerned, I'm not entirely sure parental supervision would suffice.

I'm guessing they were probably related also?

Get a grip people.....the only way this will ever stop is if we start taking care of it ourselves. Protect your children, and punish the molesters.

I can promise you one thing. If my daughter comes to me and tells me about something like this....they will just have to figure out what to do with me, because I will have taken care of the, um, problem.

I would also imagine neither of those children were in "ideal" situations.......
