Posted — UpdatedRALEIGH, N.C. — Police arrested a 40-year-old Raleigh man Thursday in connection with a September sexual assault during which a woman was kidnapped, raped and terrorized, warrants state.
Burt Nathan Hinkson, of 2717 Pheiffer Drive, faces first-degree rape, first-degree sexual offense and first-degree kidnapping charges. He was being held in the Wake County jail under $250,000 bond.
He is due in court Friday morning.
In 2009, Hinkson was charged with two felonies – intimidating a witness and assault with a deadly weapon – after investigators allege he and another man chased a 16-year-old through a parking lot armed with machetes.
According to arrest warrants, the likely motive was to prevent the victim from testifying in an assault case.
