A Raleigh man was arrested Monday on allegations that he fraudulently collected more than $29,000 in disability insurance payments.

Lisimba Tafirenyika, 55, of 2909 Bath Circle, faces one count each of insurance fraud and obtaining property by false pretense.

Criminal investigators with the North Carolina Department of Insurance allege that Tafirenyika was gainfully employed and not entitled to the disability payments from Unum Insurance Company, which he received over an 18-month period in 2011 and 2012.

Tafirenyika was placed under a $6,000 secured bond.
