Raleigh man charged in string of robberies

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh man faces a number of charges in connection with at least 10 robberies and attempted robberies.

Allen Smith, 25, of 1960-104 Milburnie Road, is charged with nine counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, one count of kidnapping, one count of attempted armed robbery, two counts conspiracy to commit armed robbery, one count of probation violation and second-degree trespassing.

According to arrest warrants, several of the crimes occurred at automated teller machines with Smith allegedly using a handgun.
