Raleigh man accused of prostituting mentally disabled person

Raleigh police arrested a man Friday who is accused of prostituting a mentally disabled person.

Raymond Lamont Sharp, 34, of 3306 Pine Grove Road, faces one count of promoting prostitution of a mentally disabled person.

An arrest warrant alleges that Sharp arranged transportation for the victim to a Super 8 motel and rented a room there for the purpose of having sex for money.

The age of the victim was not indicated in the warrant.

Sharp was in the Wake County Detention Center Saturday under a $75,000 secured bond.

    I am really surprised they posted a picture of the victim. At least she looks like she is unharmed for the most part.

    this particular crime should have a very stiff sentence, stiffer because of the mentally disabled factor, that goes beyond low.
