— A man was arrested shortly after police say he robbed someone sitting at a Raleigh sports bar Wednesday afternoon.

The suspect, whose name was not released, robbed the man at The Players Retreat on Oberlin Road and fled on foot toward the North Carolina State University campus, police said.

He was caught by campus police, who turned him over to the Raleigh Police Department. Police say he was armed, but didn't provide details about the weapon.

The victim was not hurt.

"Raleigh Police Dept sure is closed mouthed about things. NO names, NO description of weapon. Who are they covering for now?"

Rarely do I even bother to post comments on Wral simply because the level of educated comment's is very slim. However I feel I must say that the comment from BUBBADUKE somehow managed to sink to a new low. Just think, had it not been for BUBBADUKE we would not have known that other communities besides Garner get robbed. Or that BUBBADUKE has inside information as to possible future crimes in the area.

Raleigh is not the only place being robbed. A gang of robbers recently robbed El Dorado Mexican restaurant and the business next door in Garner. This was only a block from the police station. Word is that this gang is planning to hit more businesses in the area. Time to get out the shotguns.

"Why would you rob someone whose at the bar?? Is it because they might be intoxicated?? Cause Everybody I know who goes to the bar isn't loaded on cash money.

You might be able to make off with less than 100$ and some useless credit cards/debit cards (cameras will catch you) and a smartphone that will only be pinged off by GPS to your location."

And if I come out of a bar with a beer buzz and some skinny kid like that tries to rob me he's more likely to get a kick in the nads than my wallet.

NCSU campus police is good. My niece was grabbed once on campus and screamed. The bad guy took off around the building where campus police got him.
