In 1947 Ronald Reagan became president of the Screen Actors Guild. at which time, by his own admission, he was a Roosevelt liberal. Roy Brewer was a mentor who taught Ronnie the facts of political life, and swayed him to the right.

It turns out that Obama’s mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, was a communist. In his books, Obama admits attending “socialist conferences” and coming into contact with Marxist literature. However, through Frank Marshall Davis, Obama had an admitted relationship with someone who was publicly identified as a member of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA). The records shows that Obama was in Hawaii from 1971-1979, where he developed a close relationship, almost like a son to Frank, who swayed him to the socialist left.

ah, the 80s, when pride in the military was colonel oliver north selling arms to iran to fund rebels in latin america. Meeting communism head on by cozing up to dictators like saddam and having the cia train resistance fighters like osama bin laden.

do i blame reagan for this, no. i realize he believed in corporate cuts but also raised taxes so many times boehner's head would spin.

maybe the most extreme thing reagan ever did was vote for al gore for president?

"Obama is not as extreme as Reagan." That is obvious.

Reagan came into office with a few major goals: strengthen the economy, restore pride in the military, meet communism head-on, and roll back the influence of government, and he never wavered.
And do not forget Ronald Reagan’s more cherished beliefs, such as corporate tax cuts, a simpler income tax code, a freeze on discretionary spending, and the need for entitlement reform.
That is 180 degrees opposite of this Prez and his administration.
The biggest fundamental difference between the two men was Reagan viewed the American people as being smart. Obama views the American people as being dumb.

"he did not QUADRUPLE the debt either"

National debt more than tripled from 900 billion dollars to 2.8 trillion dollars during Reagan's tenure. Nominal national debt rose from $900 billion to $2.8 trillion during Reagan's tenure while the federal deficit fell from 6% of GDP in 1983 to 3.2% of GDP in 1987. The federal deficit in Reagan's final budget fell to 2.9% of GDP.

Reagan's numbers are positively puny compared to Obama's wild spending spree. Obama has had over twice the deficit spending and he did it in less than half of the time. But this is perfectly acceptable to you. For Progressives, the more debt, the better.

"If you knew anything of American Politics and History you would know Barack Obama governs like a moderate Republican from the 1980's!"

Yeah... He's just like Reagan. LOL! Where do you Progressives get this stuff? Daily Kos? Thanks for the laugh.-Ripcord

Obama is not as extreme as Reagan. He granted amnesty to much fewer illegals (just the kids unlike your hero) and he did not QUADRUPLE the debt either ;)

BTW, us Progressives “get this stuff” from history not talk radio!

"The real issue is jobs and we have none."

Anyone that is waiting on ANY politician to magically provide a job is wasting their time unless they are trying to get a job on that politicians staff.

Michele Obama four years back, said, "this is the first time in her life she was proud to be an american"

Amazing, each and everyday, I thank God for protecting and upholding the country. We have had good time and not so good times, I think if we do not change our leadership, from the top down, we are headed into a very dark place

As usual pappy you and I agree. I truely feel that obama is trying to ruin this country. I remember the night michelle said that and I actually turned to my husband and asked him if I heard her correctly. I knew right then and there we were in trouble.
