Police said Monday that they are investigating a sexual assault that occurred in Carrboro late Sunday.

<b>CARRBORO, N.C.</b> — Police said Monday that they are investigating a sexual assault that occurred in Carrboro late Sunday.

A woman told investigators that she was assaulted on Old Fayetteville Road between N.C. Highway 54 and Jones Ferry Road at about 10 p.m. She said she didn't know her attacker.

Police haven't released a description of the assailant.
