Police: Woman locked child in home, solicited officer for sex

— Police charged a Raleigh woman Tuesday after she allegedly locked up her child at home and solicited a police officer for sex, according to arrest warrants. 

April Dorian Hitchcock, 39, of 1312-C Garner Road, faces one count each of soliciting prostitution and misdemeanor child abuse.

She was being held Wednesday in the Wake County jail under a $5,000 bond.

    venitapeyton.... no mention of a husband in story. no mention whether or not she works, no mention if she is on any kind of public assistance. why cry the blues for her situation without knowing anything for sure, but what she is ACCUSED of doing. We weep for the innocent child ONLY!

    again, the safety outcome for the CHILD is not mentioned in a WRAL story. At LEAST say "DSS is involved" for heavens sake.

    I suspect this young lady is like every other real mother: a human being who will do anything necessary to feed, clothe and shelter her child. Interesting how white collar thieves get off with a good attorney and promise to appear whereas this mother has to bear even more shame.
