Police searching for 'armed and dangerous' man in Fayetteville

Police in Fayetteville were searching Monday for an armed and dangerous man who violated his pretrial release agreement.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police in Fayetteville were searching Monday for an armed and dangerous man who violated his pretrial release agreement.

Twenty-one-year-old Wilbert Diez Elliott was arrested on July 26 and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and second-degree kidnapping.

Following his arrest, Elliot was given an electronic monitoring device to wear and released until his trial.

Officials say Elliot disabled and destroyed the device Monday. He was last seen in the 1100 block of Lucerne Street.
