Investigators on Wednesday released photos of a person they believe can provide "information that would advance the investigation" of the killing of a man near Club Bodi in June.

— Investigators on Wednesday released photos of a person they believe can provide “information that would advance the investigation” of the killing of a man near Club Bodi in June.

Vernon Oneal Jones, 26, of Lillington, was killed June 1 after being shot in a parking lot about a block from the club, located at 310 S. West St. Police said Jones may have been coming from the club, where there was a disturbance inside moments before he was shot.

The incident was the latest crime connected to the club, which has been linked to three shootings within the past year and was served notice by the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission three times since Jan. 1.

The ABC Commission suspended the club’s alcohol permit after the latest shooting as city officials look to shut down the establishment.

No arrests have been made in Jones’ killing.

Anyone who recognizes the person in the pictures is asked to contact Raleigh CrimeStoppers at 919-834-4357.

I don't own a firearm but having the NRA around is a good idea IMHO. They at least create a "check and balance" against liberals who would probably go to insane lengths to take away the rights of the law abiding gun owners. Still amazes me how those with criminal records still find access to firearms.

And what would the "real problem" be?

As long as conservatives support the completely insane positions of the NRA nothing will change. This goes for pandering "moderate" democrats as well. There are solutions that would reduce gun violence, but reason has gone out the window.

What these lefties really want is for their beloved big government to force us to give up our guns, so that we have no way to protect ourselves against their constituents.

Guns are completely illegal in Chicago yet they had 14 murdered in shootings over 4th of July weekend. Laws against guns didn't seem to slow down the violence there.

And it is perfectly normal to tote one around. It's actually a law if you check out the bill of rights sometime...

Yeah, I hear ya. I don't want to date myself, but I did the same. Back in the 1800s when I was out west prospecting for gold I stopped going to the saloon...just too many hot heads with access to guns. Right on their hip! That was it for me.

Again, lefties trying to twist every tragedy to fit their warped, big government agenda. Ignoring the real problem because it is not politically correct.

It's the easy access to guns and the perception that it's perfectly normal to tote one around perpetuated by certain groups like the NRA and the hip-hop culture that is the problem.

Back in the day an altercation between 2 people was a fist fight, no guns, knifes, hand grenades or gangs. Nobody got stomped or kicked half to death and when someone said enough, that was it. We no longer have real men dealing with problems because they are mainly afraid and hide behind a weapon. Shooting someone is a last resort, not the first thing that comes to mind.....oh wait, I bet someone was disrespected...that changes everything..NOT!
