RALEIGH, N.C. — Investigators on Wednesday released photos of a person they believe can provide “information that would advance the investigation” of the killing of a man near Club Bodi in June.

Vernon Oneal Jones, 26, of Lillington, was killed June 1 after being shot in a parking lot about a block from the club, located at 310 S. West St. Police said Jones may have been coming from the club, where there was a disturbance inside moments before he was shot.

The incident was the latest crime connected to the club, which has been linked to three shootings within the past year and was served notice by the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission three times since Jan. 1.

The ABC Commission suspended the club’s alcohol permit after the latest shooting as city officials look to shut down the establishment.

No arrests have been made in Jones’ killing.

Anyone who recognizes the person in the pictures is asked to contact Raleigh CrimeStoppers at 919-834-4357.
