Police: Raleigh woman threw phone at pregnant lady

A woman has been charged with assault after she reportedly threw a phone at a pregnant woman in November.

WILMINGTON, N.C. — A woman has been charged with assault after she reportedly threw a phone at a pregnant woman in November.

Officials in Wilmington have arrested Alicia Brinkley Weeks, 52, of Raleigh and charged her with simple assault and battery of an unborn child.

According to arrest documents, Weeks threw a work telephone at the woman, who was 26 weeks pregnant, striking her in the stomach. The extent of injuries is unknown.

Weeks is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 23.
