Police officer questioned in shooting at Mid-Atlantic Christian University
A part-time police officer was being questioned Tuesday in the shooting death on a student at Mid-Atlantic Christian University.
Posted — UpdatedELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — A part-time police officer was being questioned Tuesday in the shooting death on a student at Mid-Atlantic Christian University.
Christopher Amyx is "a person of interest" in the death of sophomore Jonathan Schipper Sunday, police in Elizabeth City said.
Schipper was shot and killed inside a dorm room at the university.
An autopsy report shows he died from a gunshot wound to the head.
Police say Amyx is an auxiliary police officer with the town of Pinetops. He has been with the department since May. So far no charges have been filed.
